Mostar & Medjugorje - Culture orient of the east and west

BOOK NOW

Take a getaway to the city where you will be able to experience the valuable culture, incredible sites and a place full of contrasts. Mostar is famously called the window to the orient, a place where the east meets the west. Its history has left visible traces and a variety of monuments dating from the Turkish period and the Ottoman Empire. Old Bazaar and Bridge represent the most recognizable cultural and heritage pieces of evidence built in the 16th century by the Turkish architect. Our first stop will be right on the main attraction – Old Bridge. This stone beauty is surrounded by many local cuisine restaurants, bars offering homemade Turkish coffee, market stalls, and mosques. You can feel the mixture of cultural and religious belongings which combine perfectly and make an extraordinary unit. Crossing the bridge, we will arrive on Cobblestone Street and Old Bazaar. It maintains a special atmosphere through a wide range of colorful items such as copper utensils, handmade leather bags, books, and jewelry. Leaving Mostar behind, we will continue to the major pilgrim center of Medjugorje. For believers and people who need spiritual renewal, the most significant site of the Balkan area is Hill of Appearance where it is reported that for the first time Virgin Mary has appeared to the children in 1981. Since Herzegovina has to offer much more, such as natural value, we will explore the natural surroundings of Kravice Waterfalls. Passing through the picturesque villages, you will be able to see the habits and everyday life of the locals as well as untouched nature. Kravice waterfalls represent one of the most fascinating natural phenomena of that area. The entire area of the waterfalls is protected by the state government, but it is open to the local public for visit. Enjoy spending the rest of the day in lush green scenery and sounds of the river flowing.
